The becoming
This film features Kim Lund and his life journey, which showcases "Becoming" after being handed difficulty situations in life. This story is an inspiration to many because despite him going through a lot, Kim never let the difficulties get in the way of his passions, his wood work and love for life. The goal of this film, was to capture the different emotive experiences and pulls in life as well as the beauty of creating through the process. I wanted to ensure that not just the negativity was shown but rather a contrast of both the hardship and delights of his work that helped him het through cancer.
Through the researching and preparation of making this film I decided I wanted to show his life "just as it is", following him around the day with his passions and what matters most to him.
This video was completed for a video class in University. We were instructed to make a portrait film of someone interesting. Filming, editing and interviewing were done by me.
farrow sandwiches promotionl video
Farrow Sandwiches is a local sandwich shop in Edmonton that desires to share their love of food with the community. Through their interactions with the community and promotional material they strive to keep life real and who they are. As a creative business, they love sharing their skills of art and will often showcase this through doodles and their graphical and illustrative branding. We wanted to work as a team to encapsulate the fun and welcoming energy of the local business and play of a goofy feeling for the main character.
The main character is the human version of Cactus Pete, who is Farrow’s unofficial mascot. In the video Pete orders Farrow’s popular and well known sandwich, The Grick. The Farrow team is determined to make the most perfect Grick sandwich, with their speciality homemade Tomato Jam. So much hard work goes into a sandwich to only then be devoured in only a few seconds.
This video was done for a University video group project, with two other students of the Video class. The preproduction, filming and editing were all done as a team. Our goal was to capture the business’s spunky and fun atmosphere and make a promotional video for the small business. I supported in video filming, editing and 3/4 of the stop motion illustrations were done by me using Adobe Fresco to illustrate and premiere pro to edit.
Discovery of music
Andre is a genre-spanning, jazz keyboardist who is currently actively recording and composing. In this video we get a little glimpse into his journey through music, where it has brought him and where he desires to continue in the future. We are lucky to experience his most recent piano recording, featured in this video.
This video was completed for a video class in University. We were open to make any video we desired. Filming, editing and interviewing were completed by me.
